Ok this one is for the photo and video peeps. No photos and short and sweet. Why do we often buy and sell gear? I can only speak for myself but it’s a few things for me. I love technology in general so trying new gear is fun. It also inspires me to make new work to test out whatever is new and shiny to me. Then there is the stuff we don’t mention much. I think as artists we are collectively insecure about our work to some degree if we are honest with ourselves. So I think sometimes it’s possible to see the new camera, lens, drone, light, gimbal, and the mist goes in- and think “ if only I had ________ “ then I could make what I want k make. I envy those people who buy a body and learn it fully and make wonderful art with it. I hope to do that going forward and using my GAS- gear acquisition syndrome, to my film cameras instead.
